Air Max ‘97 continues his 2024 turn into the light with ‘Crow Time’, featuring Zambian/Malawian artist Sevy on vocals and Sydney’s Atro on co-production. Swapping his usual brain melt techno for a mellifluous pop approach inspired by the syncopations of afrobeat and the summery rap flavours of London (where Air Max ‘97 lived from 2018-2020), Crow Time functions as an ethereal canvas for Sevy to lock in and wax poetic. Taking us on a kaleidoscopic journey through day and night (Crow Time I’m Up / Bat Time I’m Up), Sevy delivers devotional overtures to nature, his lover, and stunting at the function.
The music video for Crow Time sees Sevy deep in suburban Sydney bat country with Air Max ‘97 and Atro in tow, oneiric flora and fauna proliferating under a setting sun. Crow Time begins on 20 March 2024.
