Sergio Sergi, an artist hailing from the Italian island of Sicily, arrives on Growing Beat Records, an imprint now in its’ fourth year of existence. The young Italian has established an authentic house sound since first producing beats at the tender age of fifteen years-old. Previous releases on Moan Recordings, Nervous Records and Sanity have helped culminate an impressive set of releases for Sergio over the years, with the ‘Random Club’ EP going further to bolster his discography.


The original mix of ‘Random Club’ launches into a percolating house-vibe from the off; a driving kick and bass combination coupled with roaming synths and mysterious vocals emanate sounds of a deep and underground track, perfect for the depths of a dark and dingy basement or the clubs’ mainroom.


On the flip we have the Obando Dub remix. The Colombian has productions unleashed on the likes of Dubfire’s SCI+TEC and Rawthentic Music in his arsenal. In true Obando style, he opts to twist the original by adding depth and colour to its’ percussive elements. Toms provide a bouncing tension whilst fluttering snares and projected synths compliment the now, tribal-influenced vocals effortlessly.


A real pack-a-punch release that has a lot to offer through the original and Obando’s dub-remix.
