Rotterdam’s Eelke Kleijn presents the fourth Nocturnal installment through his own DAYS like NIGHTS label with two intriguing deep house explorations. The tech-tinged ‘Idom Casy’ by Pysh and Skalni is urgent, probing and searching through the darkness, and lit up by chants of an operatic defiance. In Lakech’s ‘In Similar’ is a more tribal roller of smooth persistence, lined with pianos deep in thought, and whose dryness is punctuated by spiky Balearic fanfares and passionate hymns.
