Fabric is the binary codex of culture. Telar, the 2nd EP from Quixosis is a conscious exploration of the rhythmic matrix of northern Ecuador, its codified stories, woven conflict, beauty and tension; its connection to cosmic celebration, and the universality that can be found when one digs deep into the roots of any human culture. Telar is an exploration of Daniel Lofredo Rota%u2019s personal musical tapestry. Combining the ancestral Rhythms of Northern Ecuador, like the Sanjuanito, Albazo, Danzante, and Fox Incaico with deep transcendental chanting, analog and modular electronics, and tribal rhythm structures that transcend culture and geography and tap into the deep consciousness of culture.



Telar is a collaborative effort with Ecuadorian singer Huaira, Producer and accordionist, Ata Wallpa, and visual artist Boloh Miranda Izquierdo, and it is a representation of a collective intention and current, to take back our own local mestizo culture, and create new iterations of it for the distant future, and convoluted present. With Telar, Quixosis wishes to break with the overgeneralized category of %u201CAndean Beat%u2019 and dig deeper into what it means to be from the Northern Andean regions of Ecuador. This is a local reinterpretation of local music.
