We had a GU night out at Kevin McKay's album launch at Mick's Garage, London. Up for discussion was a recent chat Kevin had had with legendary Scottish DJ Michael Kilkie about "tracks that need an edit". Joshwa thought this was a great idea and got right on it.
"Oh well, there's no chance of us doing that," we thought. The original vocal is too unique. But then, we'd just managed to recreate "Get Ur Freak On" so we tried out the vocalist from that and whaddayaknow... she nailed it.
Since all of that happened, Elliot Adamson has also done a version. There's obviously something in the water.
Here is Joshwa's version of "212".
