When the Transatlantic Love EP Volume One was released, it could be argued that the main story was the beautifully circular behind the scenes tale of New York based Easy Street label owner Mike Gusick reuniting with London music industry exec Nick Halkes. The two had first met in 1987 when Halkes was a teenage Uni student hustling for a job in the industry. Gusick gave him his first break and he went on to launch XL Recordings and Positiva delivering many classic smashes over the years before they reconvened collaborative work more than three decades later.

The EP release however changed the narrative. Nicks remix of Hideaway topped the UK club charts and at one point the EP provided 3 simultaneous top 10 cuts on that chart. With a top 3 sales position on Traxsource too, it was clear that the musical story now more than deserved headline billing.

And so to Volume 2! With the legendary Michael Gray remixing Share The Night by World Premiere as an opening salvo, it was clear that the pioneering label was on a roll. Michaels remix of You Don't Know by Serious Intention mines deeper territory but with no less effectiveness. Fellow Brit Shadow Child first shot to clubland fame with game changing outings on Dirty Bird. On Hideaway he delivers another killer, doffing his cap this time to both classic NYC house and UK garage-in many ways the trademark classic Shadow Child sound. With the success of his rework on Volume One, it was only natural that Halkes would be back behind the mixing desk for Volume Two - this time smacking Hot Streak %u2018Body Work%u2019 into 2020 fashion.

They say that when the going gets tough the tough get going and with the quality and momentum of music here, who knows what further beautiful stories and brilliant music the future may hold for the revitalized Easy Street!.
