The new Moodmusic compilation 'James Flavour & Sasse present Station' is a homage to the early days of NYC filter house, when Henry Street reigns, and the studio was often little more than a drum machine and a sampler. The minimalist production capabilities meant things were kept RAW.
The collection of songs by some well known artists from the Moodmusic roster as well as newcomers show the versatility and the innovative use of a sampler, an instrument which in today's world have become more or less obsolete in computer based productions.
James Flavour from Dirt Crew fame and Moodmusic head honcho Sasse have been working together on EPs for years, but it's been a new journey to collect, compile and Mix their first Compilation - James Flavour and Sasse present Station!
Born out of the countess back 2 back session in clubs like Panorama Bar and Cookies in Berlin, the duo always pushes each other musically to get the best out of themselves, as well as the dance floor. Station represents a different sound than either of their respective labels are known for. It's a common ground with a firm grip on the history of house music - especially the golden years of US house from 92-97.
Not locked in any nostalgic concepts, James Flavour and Sasse presents Station takes the listener on a dirty, sweaty night out, like it used to be.
