With a sound that helped define the 1980's music scene and a presence amongst popular culture which has seen them appear across TV, film and video games, its a pleasure to present a new remix single,'Everything But My Pride' from the iconic Cutting Crew. This selection of remixes follow on from the groups "Ransomed Healed Restored Forgiven" album and features a full philharmonic orchestra, as well as some new additions to the August Day artist roster.
The Grammy-nominated rock band were formed in England in 1985 by ever-present singer and guitarist, Nick Van Eede with original guitarist, writer and fellow-conspirator from Canada, Kevin MacMichael. Literally within months, the band signed with Siren Records/Virgin on the strength of their melody-rich demos alone.
Cutting Crew, becoming a foursome in 1986, entered the studio the same year to record the multi-million selling debut album "Broadcast", one year before "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" exploded and made them stars at home and in the USA where it hit the number one spot in the charts and has so far garnered 5 million plays on the radio in that country alone!
Things open up with the Orchestral Version of "Everything But My Pride" taken off 2020's "Ransomed Healed Restored Forgiven". The string section gives a full bodied and rich tonality to the track, which enhances the whole atmosphere, whilst broadening the stereo image. This gives a totally new feel to one of the groups most cherished tracks.
Following on we present a dance floor ready remix from Saint-Petersburg based band Kim And Buran. This upbeat four-to-the-floor disco edit glides along with a rolling, modulating baseline and well thought out synth lines. You will find plenty of cosmic sound effects and subtle delays on the lead vocals which give this remix a lot of movement and groove.
Coyote brings a down-tempo and spacious remix to the table. With plenty of atmospheric pads, wavering synths and percussion, which gives the track a new age feel. This dreamy edit has a sparse style vocal delivery which gives the track lots of room to breathe.
