The third man to take the baton in Delsin's new house aligned sub-series is Helsinki's Trevor Deep Jr. The man himself states his sound is "somewhere between Detroit deepness, classic Chicago house and the moody soundscapes of Helsinki", something backed up by the three new tracks offered here.
Clearly a fan of analogue synthesis, opening track 'Keep On' is a gently rolling deep house groove that comes alive with a seriously heart wrenching and super soulful male vocal. In the background, well-defined drums and warm chords swell about like a warm sea, proving not only people from Detroit can make deeper than deep electronica.
'Still Raw' ticks and kicks that bit quicker but is still buried deep underground. Misty and foggy, it's punctured only by the sandiest of hits and the most sumptuous of synth waves, before final track 'Back To Jersey' gets all reverential and sci-fi in its long thing pads and bobbling, grubby bassline.
Deep but purposeful, this is house music for the cosiest of late-night dancing spaces that will no doubt bring plenty of deserving attention on Trevor Deep Jr.
