Josh Butler's Origins Rcrds brings some serious jackin' house heat from Toronto, Canada native, Demuir, with his 'On Dat Soul' EP dropping this autumn.

The jackin' house maestro has recently released on well regarded labels such as Rawthentic, Robsoul, elrow, Sola, and his own imprints, Purveyor Underground and Kultur. He has regularly been supported by the likes of Phil Weeks, Mark Farina, Low Steppa, Kevin Knapp and more.

This is his 4th appearance on Butler's Origins Rcrds, and this is a masterclass in jackin house that's both raw yet it's also laden with soul. First up on the release is First Stroke, with hypnotic resonating background pads filtering in and out, jackin snare hits and a smooth grooving bassline all combining with a sweet vocal cut, this has a light and fresh outlook to start the EP off.

Next up is 'Level Up On Dat Soul', which jacks things up in an edgy underground fashion. The bass works overtime, providing energy and the vocal cuts are worked in perfectly to keep this more in tune for the heads. Last but not least is 'Can't Stop Da Real', the funkiest of the 3 tracks on the release. Demuir works the soulful and jazzy samples into the mix with elegant filtering and gives this a certain old school flavor.
