Giovanni Isgrò aka Maple Juice is a Dj, producer and sound engineer based in Milan.
His musical inspirations, in a nutshell, stat from artists like Prokofiev and Satie, pass through all the black culture of the Delta, dive deep into the sound of the 70’s (especially '74 - '77 dirty grooves, sometimes '78), and end up with the latest dances of Chicago and Detroit.
His djsets range from Soul, Undergound Disco and Boogie Funk to Hip Hop, Ghetto House and Footwork.
Lately he has been performing a bouncy live set with MPC and other gears. The production is a blend of sampled grooves, odd drum machines, and different styles of synths.
'It Began' is made of tracks extract from this live. Starting from a ghetto juke ispiration it then develops towards house music sounds with disco funk hints through the obsessive use of samples and rude basslines.
