WJSD (Incl. Fred Everything and JT Donaldson Remix)

Giano

Lazy Days Recordings
LZD-009 | 2008-04-16
Lazy Days welcomes Giano with 2 massive latin numbers that were everywhere in Miami. Includes a remix by Fred Everything and JT Donaldson!

Fred Everything’s San Francisco based label Lazy Days is fast approaching its tenth release, but just find time to squeeze in a little Latin flavour which is sure to hit all the right notes at Miami and into the summer. Fred’s recent move to California from Montreal sees him bring Ian Lujan, aka Giano, into the fold for an EP that has the Canadian transplant very excited: “It’s a serious monster of a track. The best Latin house track I've heard in ages.”

Giano is based in Fresno, California. A talented producer, he is influenced by a wide variety of sounds ranging from jazz to house to hip hop and downtempo and runs his own label Italiano Recordings which has so far released his own “Inside Toke EP”

The main track on Lazy Day’s ninth release, ‘WJSD’ was introduced to Fred by Chicago legend DJ Diz, who then put the two in contact with each other. Don’t let the beginning of the track fool you, this is one takes you on a journey. It’s all about that Latin break in the middle which is reminiscent of Freeform 5’s epic remix of Beau Mot Plage. As such it has already been a firm favourite with Jay J, Johnny Fiasco and of course Diz and Fred.

Flip for Rumba Papaya, another latin influenced track. This time Giano twiddles the knobs as he remixes an original track from Russian Eugene Morriarti Poley.

On the remix tip, fresh from their successful EP on Lazy Days (which reached #2 on the Stompy download chart), Fred Everything once again teams up with JT Donaldson to turn in a simple latin beatdown, based around the middle part of the original, straight to the point.
