The Hype
Presenting King Street #391. Why? Just Because. The 391st issue of anything alone is worth celebrating. Debut releases by brand new artists make this even more special. Spanish upcoming deep house label Connected Musik's honcho, Edmund dropped us debut track "Survive (Sax Mix)" featured a saxophonist Ramon Riera. This sexy, deep, neo-disco music with lovely female vocal wraps the floor warmly and gives you a smooth feel. Russian born house producer Dmitry Boldyrev a.k.a. Chocolate Avenue has already made his name on the list such as Suara, Liebe*Detail, Suruba, and so on. "Fresh Like 99" 's funky wah-wah rock riff over the addictive groovy ass-shakin' baseline is the key of this track. Real funkness is right here. Watch out people! Finally Korea's got this house producer and he is no doubt the one up to grab. His name is Steve Wu and "Aftermoon" represents what he is really about, powerful and classy. His progressive jazzy style will be an absolute killer among this release. From the neo-wave feel of German producers Less Hate's "With You," to US Tech House producer Karlanca's "Tout Va," to the minimal chillistic stylings of the UK outfit SO DEAF!'s "Break It Down" and groovy new Deep House producer James Silk's "Inside of Me," there's something here for just about any fan of the cross cultural genres.
