Very few DJs get to play regular headline shows without having made a massively popular track. When you find one, it's usually a testament to their incredible selections behind the decks. N2N, or Nick Kohler as he's known to his friends, is one such DJ. This year he has been playing big parties week after week stateside and is now off to Burning Man for days of continual deck work. It's true that he hasn't yet connected with a killer cut, but that does not mean his music has not been on point. For current DJs nostalgia or huge brand recognition drives the sales, and N2N has eschewed both in favour of a detailed and wickedly clever take on tech house... until now. "Play" is ostensibly a cover of the J-Lo classic, but, in reality, it is so much more. The bassline is one of the finest we have heard in years, and it drives those words that every "No Requests" T-shirt-wearing DJ hates to hear like nothing we have ever heard. Such a tune and one that we will never get tired of hearing a request for!
