Lay All Your Love On Me

Kevin McKay's "Gimme Gimme" is a dance music phenomenon. Released in January 2020, just before the pandemic, it found its first life on the streaming services, a feel-good beacon for those dark times. That was lovely to see, but not what Kevin had intended it for. He built it first and foremost for the dancefloor. Refined over months at Mick's Garage in Hackney Wick, this was a 70s-fuelled juggernaut made for the ultimate peak-time moment. It was nearly two years old when clubs opened up again, and slowly, DJs began gravitating to it. Tastemakers like Eats Everything and Arielle Free were first, then by the summer of 2022, it was everywhere. And it wasn't just this ABBA song they were playing (much to the annoyance of some old DJs!); dancefloors wanted more. This phenomenon started in 2019 with DJs like Kevin and the Prince playing ABBA re-edits (like the Bobby Cooper edit of "Voulez Vous") and Folamour playing the Mighty Mouse edit of "Gimme Gimme." By last summer, you heard ABBA everywhere. There was one ABBA song, however, that we didn't have an excellent remix for, so Kevin started working on a version of "Lay All Your Love On Me". This time, it was his Superfeel night, where he did the testing, and now it's ready for release. So set up your glitterball, dial up the fun and press play on this beauty!
