Piston Recordings continues a strong start to 2024 with the return of Polish artist Deryk Rossen and his latest effort titled ‘Jungle River’. Following on from his Spring 2023 slice, 'Route EP' Deryk is an aficionado of electronic music since his youth, consistently evolving his sound with each release. Embracing influences from House, Deep House, and Tech House, he skilfully blurs genre boundaries. Having showcased his talent on various esteemed labels such as Shelving Music, RH2, Kore Music, Groove Tom Records, and Club Session, Deryk Rossen once again graces us with his musical prowess and we’re delighted to have him back once again.

We begin with the title track, ‘Jungle River’ which opens with a nice and chunky 909 kick and short, crispy hats. A deep and playful bassline sets the vibe alight as warm chords are contrasted with plucky notes. Cool vocal shots accentuate the groove as lush keys add an intriguing layer to the sound. Top-notch and a must have. ‘Caapi’ concludes the release with a much deeper mood thanks to laidback kicks and warm, subby basses. Swirling pads add a rich atmosphere as sharp chord stabs and hypnotic FX lure us in. The break reveals a darker element filled with mesmerizing arps, plucky notes and a captivating vocal. The perfect fodder to keep the late-night party moving.
