Balkan Connection continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Last95 to the label for his debut single. Since emerging in 2017 Serbian artist Last95 has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of melody and groove, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula. With a strong schedule since his first single ‘Faceless', the Belgrade resident has impressed with a consistent stream of superlative releases via Lowbit, Space Motion Records and Last95 Records, the latter of which has served as his primary home. With 2023 being highlighted by his ‘Retro Narrative' EP, a release written in conjunction with Turkish producer Orkun Bozdemir, Last95 now opens the new year with his much-anticipated Balkan Connection debut ‘Blood'.

Sitting comfortably in cross genre territory, Last95 crafts a modern club cut that is sure to leave lasting memories on the dancefloor. Remarkably powerful, its dynamic groove commands attention, moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, while soulful vocals steal the air, bringing with them a nostalgic soul which creates a cruising energy into the main break. Adding a contemporary flair to the narrative, the interlude melts down to a warm atmospheric glow, eventually revealing a new-found melodic theme, set against a backdrop that is both colourful and emotive, before rising atmospherics summon the groove for a tasteful end of the night style finale.
