We welcome Oversound back to Bonzai Progressive with his first solo release on the label entitled ‘Metroplex EP’. Alen has been an esteemed DJ since 1995, establishing himself as a trailblazer in the Croatian House Music scene. He has graced top-tier events across the nation, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. In 1998, he ventured into radio hosting, and in 1999, he made history by opening one of Croatia's first vinyl record shop, aptly named Oversound, from which he derived his artist alias. His talent and dedication were showcased in his debut appearance on Bonzai with a captivating remix on Cortex Thrill’s 'Dialectical Monism' which left a lasting impression on audiences before he joined his fellow countrymen once more on the superb ‘Entities’. We are thrilled to welcome him back once again, anticipating another electrifying performance.

The EP begins with the original mix of ‘Metroplex’ which offers up a beautiful, warm deep progressive groove filled with lush basses and delicate arps that captivate the mind, body and soul. A gem of a track to sit perfectly in any set builder. Croatian electronic music legends Ivo T Montina and Robert Grizilo aka Cortex Thrill are up next, returning to the label with a solid remix on ‘Metroplex’. For over three decades, Cortex Thrill has been at the forefront of the European electronic music scene, captivating audiences and earning a devoted following. Their evolution in style has been remarkable, constantly innovating production techniques to deliver vibrant and dynamic sounds. On the remix here, the guys toughen up the groove with gritty basses that deliver a surging effect. Tight beats and contrasting melodies strike a balance with the chunky basses alongside cool vocals making this a definite must have. At the midway point we find the smooth and sultry grooves of ‘Memories’. Hitting the emotions with inviting melodies and expressive note changes throughout, this one propels us to the stratosphere on an epic journey that will leave a lasting impression.

‘Is Anybody Out There’ is up next and is the first of two interpretations beginning with the Instrumental Mix. Deep and moody, the track is filled with chugging basses, punchy beats and an infectious rhythmic structure. Striking FX add weight to the groove while scathing synths weave intricate melodies on the break and beyond. Following the instrumental we have the captivating Vocal Mix of ‘Is There Any Body Out There’ which carries the same potent qualities as its predecessor with the added enchantment of rich vocals that adds that extra layer of magic to the groove. ‘Atom’ rounds out the release, aiming squarely at the dancefloor with a deep and groovy vibe thanks to thick basses layered with plucky overtones and lush chords. A stomper of a track that does not disappoint.
