Album Only
KIDDM 10022 | 2013-07-16
As an in-demand singer/songwriter and musician, Sylvia Black has gained international acclaim (and worldwide sales surpassing 5 million copies) for her potent co-writes and collaborations with Black Eyed Peas, Moby, William Orbit, Kelis, The Noisettes, Spank Rock, Benny Benassi, 'The Voice' Germany winner Ivy Quainoo and, most recently, The Knocks, Run DMT and Telepopmusik.
On BAD WEATHER, produced and arranged by Black and co-producer/engineer Rudyard Lee Cullers (Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Basement Jaxx/Bright Eyes), the multi-talented musical chameleon conjures a smoldering collection of gripping barbed-wire tales and smoldering vocals - with equal parts smoke and bite. Set against a backdrop of grimy desert rock, haunting melancholic pop and dusty blues, the 8-track mini-album features previous singles "Bad Weather" and "Am I Not Your Girl?", the radiant "Fatality Of Love", "Killing Time", a fiery take on Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" and the previously unreleased "Bad Weather (Antipop & Analog Boy Remix)" from Telepopmusik's own Antipop and former Autour de Lucie guitarist, Analog Boy.
The release comes on the heels of Telepop's new EP 'Try Me Anyway'/ 'Fever' featuring Betty Black, which debuted as the #1 Electronic EP in France, Russia and Romania. Black will be one of the main vocalists for the group's long awaited third studio album (due later this year) alongside Angela McCluskey and Johanna Wedin.
