The Leipzig-based vinyl-only label O*RS takes off to new compilation spheres - this time quite unusually with a digital release: 'O*RS Working Title One' is a trip down memory lane of about two years of label history.

It all started with the Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt song 'Ours' that had been intended to be launched on vinyl. In the upshot, it all took quite an unexpected turn with O*RS being founded, a still young label that can already look back on a good-looking discography. An amount of 19 tracks on six, tender stamped EPs, have yet landed at our very own record players. So it's about time for a digital best-of, still as versatile as the label itself. Although label father Filburt primarily works in house, the compilation is a colorful sound carpet of disco, dub, ambient, house and deep house. The first track belongs to Llewellyn aka Lake People and culminates in warm textures of deep house. Metasound & Lucius 14 for their part are contributing a catchy kickshaw, while M.ONO & LUVLESS's organic vocals and bongo tones are fixing a vibrant extrapolation. RDF are Ron Deacon and Filburt partnering up at the 808 with their track 'True!'. A witty contrast is brought through unabashed nuances of disco attitude supplied by Dominik Marz & Leon Holstein and Panthera Krause with fresh hooks, shimmering loops and impelling basses. Krink and RJ are at their very best and likewise deliver luscious synthies and disco pleasance. The rather dusky technoid finish is framed by O*M*C*D with the pushing dub hit 'It's Hard To Be Dub Part 2'. 'O*RS Working Title One' merges into a flowing mixtape that rhythmically wanders off from treasure to treasure, lifting the vinyl-only label to therefore unknown levels of the digital world. A retrospective across the O*RSian alphabet.
