Johnny Heartsman was one of those legendary characters. The veteran Bay Area bluesmen spoke of him with awe and reverence. They talked about a man who played on hundreds of 45s from the mid 1950s until the late 1960s. Heartsman was a master guitar and keyboard player, a fine arranger, and subtle vocalist. He could let loose on the organ as well as flute, the latter he proves on Rudy Lambert's amazing double-sider which was released on the tiny Club 7 label some time in the late 1960s. Limited to 500 copies.
