After a widely acclaimed vinyl only release (Mastercris feat. Kathy Diamond - You're The One), Blossom Kollektiv keeps the pressure on, and further affirms itself as a leading staple in the up and coming scene of underground physical pleasure music. For it's sixth release (digital only this time) it's austrian author Pjuné delivering the good shit: a three tracker of the highest order that is sure to please more than a few lovers of dark, passionate club music.

"Come On" is a variation on a theme long since coded in the ether of archetypal house music: the well placed Marvin tribute sample. Pjuné picks an accapella snippet from the ominous sexual hint soundtrack, one of the legendary singer's most unmistakeable signature moments, managing to place it intelligently in a hypnotic and subtle manner, creating a soul quenching loop that works wonderfully. With only a minimalistic rhythm section and an upright bass lick, the track is surprisingly simple and immensely efficient in it's lightness, with only minute arrangement dynamics. A real exercise in "less is more".

"Guy Talk" runs with the unpretentious feel of the whole EP, a deep and simple house groove that suggests space and comfort while appealing to eyes-closed dancing, big smiles and arms in the air. It's not rocket science, it's pure, unadulterated deep house in it's most untouched conception. The defining moment comes with an unexpected breakdown, revealing a half tempo dub pattern under a throbbing sub bass layer, the vocal loop gets drenched in reverberation, to result in a beats and bass workout, a resolution both deep and dark of the initial soulful vibe. Great track for club play indeed!

"The Underground" is the most overtly physical moment of the EP, simple swingy beats over a well designed set of sound FX, percussion, chords over a driving bass line. A vocal hook says something about "my man smoking weed" and the obscure sexy feeling that oozes from the track suggests it will indeed sound great with some sinsemilla for added atmosphere. Great for smokey rooms and late hour play, the name is apt and suggests exactly what the track conveys - that feeling that comes when you get deep into the vibe of house... bone rattling ecstasy meets inner landscapes. Unmissable track for sure.

With more amazing vinyl releases in the pipeline, Blossom keeps an impeccable track record of top notch music and feeds it's hungry followers with some digital heat before advancing further into the realm of hot plastic. Keep an eye out for Pjuné, keep an ear out for Blossom Kollektiv! Enjoy the music.
