**First release on Zed Bias's Biasonic Records**
As far as this new generation of house enthusiasts goes, Applebottom aka Joe Arthur is undeniably one of its stars. His productions stand out for being anthemic in a sophisticated way, full of texture and detail, as well as laden with hooks and melody. Both Licked & Knock it like that deliver with totally infectious hooks, evocative references and a suitably heavy bottom-knocker. Zed knew he'd found a kindred spirit on first listen and has been dropping these tracks in pretty much every set since.
Frighteningly young, perhaps such musical maturity was partly born from his internship at Honest Jon's records, immersed in all the best kinds of music spanning many decades, continents and styles. For a lad still in his teens, he certainly knows his stuff and his passion for classic house and disco records is as clearly evident from speaking to him as it is in his recordings and DJ sets.
Since breaking through less than a year ago Applebottom has been selling out club shows nationwide week-in, week-out and this summer sees him throw down in Ibiza and Croatia as well as countless festival gigs. Releases for Kerri Chandler's MadTech label and his "Eton Messy" work have gone down pretty well (the latter clocking up over a million views on their youtube channel!) and this debut release for Zed Bias' long-awaited BIASONIC imprint looks destined to further fuel the fire for this young Bristolian.
