"Rives proves himself far more than a cog in house music's machinery" -- All Music

Rob Rives is one of New York's premiere architects of dark and penetrating, electro-fuelled tech-house. The innovative producer, remixer, DJ and engineer-extraordinaire (whose aliases include Floppy Sounds, Phantom Power, Fluid X and Shade) has worked behind the scenes with many of house music's most well-known artists, most notably as the engineer for Danny Tenaglia and Francois K, as well as, constructing remixes for artists like Kraftwerk, Underworld, Yoko Ono, X-PRESS 2, Green Velvet and Can. For his latest Mother Jefferson release, Rives is in top form packing a punch with a ferocious double A-side rivaling his best output. "Love Off" (House Mix) is a massive club banger that reimagines Gang of Four's 1983 hit "Is It Love?" into an hard-hitting "peak time" juggernaut melding the dark, hard and soul sounds of New York City with the minimal electro, click-house synthetic sounds of Berlin. "Fan Dancing Robot" is a more brooding, hallucinogenic trip surging with deep throbbing bass, undulating sonic manipulations and washes of warm electronic textures that recall his Floppy Sounds masterpiece "Doing Shows".
