Honing his DJ skills since the age of fourteen, Brooklyn-raised, Baltimore-based producer DJ Oji has been making soulful house music for over a decade and counting. Teaming up with his long-time collaborator and vocal powerhouse, Carolyn Victorian, the pair presents a fiery two-track debut on Soul Heaven titled ‘Workin’ My Nerves’. Ricocheting bongos and festive whistles get things pumping quick on the ‘Oji Workin’ Vocal’ as Victorian’s soft, seductive voice glides over the rolling bass line creating a groovy wave of tropical delight. The ‘Oji Original Vocal’ holds its own with its big piano chords and uplifting synth melody. As it progresses, the track is joined by an array of percussions and strings transforming it into a euphoric declaration of love betrayed.
