Almost two decades on from his first release and German legend DJ Tonka has been enjoying quite the renaissance of late. Having influenced everyone from legends like Daft Punk to leaders of the new school like Jackmaster, he has left an indelible mark on house music over the course of his career with his disco cut-ups and quirky grooves. Recent years have seen him remix mainstream stars like Ellie Goulding, but he’s still dedicated to making dancefloors move.

My House is the third release on his new Tonka Tunes label, and continues down the path set by inaugural release We Don’t Play - blending trademark ‘90s sounds with cutting edge production sheen. Super punchy beats bring high energy from the first beat, with hollow bass tones tapping out a head-nodding groove and a classic house vocal cut bringing a commanding presence to the proceedings. Classic ‘90s house chord stabs take care of the lead melody as those distinctive Tonka vocal cuts pepper the track.

Coming in at a short and snappy 4 minutes, there’s also a Bass Intro Mix - plunging headfirst into a breakdown - and an Instrumental for those who want to keep it stripped back.
