Hot on the heels of killer releases this year from Demarkus Lewis, SKMK, Sek, Awale and Dominic Martin, Lost My Dog unleash this sublime four track sampler EP 'Off The Leash' on 15th September, featuring music from a mix of new and established artists.
Nearly 10 years in the business have taught LMD the value of ignoring passing trends and fashions and instead sticking to the sounds they love, and this EP is another sterling example of this policy: four tracks of underground deepness, perfect 4am fodder for the basement heads, bubbling TB basslines, Detroit-esque chords, jacking beats - in other words, pure party music.
First up is LMD label-boss Pete Dafeet in partnership with young-gun Miami Ice who follow up their excellent dual-production 'Time' which appeared on LMD's Sonar Sampler in 2013. Next, fresh from recent successes with EPs and remixes on Recess, Sleazy Deep and Transmission, LMD welcome North London based production duo Tainted Souls to the fold for their first outing on the label.
The third track comes from long-time member of the Lost My Dog family Nick Dare, who has remixed Bernard Jones and Roland Nights for the label since his first original work in 2008, the hugely successful Dub People EP. Finally, from Milan, Italy comes newcomer LCS contributing his first track for LMD and indeed his first ever release, bringing a fresh new take on the underground sound LMD have always championed.
