Acid House pioneer and inventor of The Wild Pitch style, DJ Pierre comes on board to grace the latest installment of King Street's House Legends series. Ninth in line, he joins other greats, who've been massive contributors to this thing we call House Music, including Eric Kupper, Kerri Chandler, DJ Roland Clark presents Urban Soul, Frankie Feliciano, Mateo & Matos, Cevin Fisher, Mood II Swing, and Blaze on previous comps. From his foray into House in the late 80's until today, DJ Pierre remains one of the most consistent performers and visible producers out in the dance world. Never the man to be pinned down for doing just one thing, he's had his hands in many musical pies, constantly re-inventing himself with such monikers as Audio Clash, Darkman, Disco Fuhrer, DJ Pierre, DJ Pierre's Afro Acid Project, Doomsday, M & M, Nathaniel Pierre Jones, One Screaming Idiot, P-Ditty, Pfantasia, Photon Inc., Phugitive, Phuture Scope, Pierre's Pfantasy Club, Raving Lunatics, the Don, Time Warp, X Fade, and Yvette. He also formed the group Phuture with his friends Spanky. For King Street he's certainly had his share of original productions in various guises and remixes over the years; all those you'll find on this comp, with a few given some hot contemporary re-rubs. From arguably one of his most well known tunes Switch 2001 and massive follow up with singer Licia and R U Ready? and Come Together (What Is House?) remixed by Supernova, to the deep-in-the-well 1994 classics Hallelluja and Dance Dance with the legendary Danell Dixon as well as X Fade feat. Lavette Good & Plenty Love remixed by the legendary Roy Davis, Jr. are included. Moving up to '97 & '98 we hear the memorable One Screaming Idiot Screaming For Daddy (DJ Pierre's Scream Pitch), Spank Spank Your Inspiration (DJ Pierre's Da Bomb), and a couple from the early 2000's like the pure House Music of Dennis Ferrer's Between Da Sheets Mix of Good Luv with singer Queen Mary, Pierre's remix of Roy Davis' Deep House side project Infinity feat. Malik Back 2 Chicago and many more. A great blend of styles and eras shows that DJ Pierre remains one of the truest House Legends out in the world today.
