Canadian producer Dabins latest EP, Bloodless, is a landmark release featuring a host of talented collaborators and remixers. A musical exploration of the ups and downs of relationships, Bloodless switches constantly between moments of intimate warmth and blaring intensity, taking cues from several genres of electronic music. Throughout the EP, Dabin paints vivid emotional pictures through rich melodies and lush sonic textures, while still maintaining dance-floor appeal.

The title track of the EP is an anthemic electro-house song in which Dabin weaves a silky vocal performance by Sarah Lee over a driving piano melody before bringing in powerful distorted synth chords. You, a collaboration with fellow Kannibalen Records artist Kai Wachi, sees both producers take turns unleashing massive bass growls in between grimy instrumental sections; the second drop is absolutely massive.

Dabin gives listeners a breather with Endlessly. Built around an undulating synth progression and a strong vocal courtesy of Anna Yvette, this track is a deliciously mellow piece of half-time electronica. The last original on the release, "Embers" is an infectiously catchy song featuring the blissful vocals of Jill Harris. This chilled-out track has a strong house influence thanks to its central piano melody, which Dabin deftly complements with well-placed vocal snippets and groovy percussion.

Four remixers bring their respective touches to the EP. Kai Wachi returns with his razor-sharp synths for a dark trapstep version of Embers, which Feint then flips into an uplifting Drum & Bass track. Spag Heddy turns Endlessly into an in-your-face banger. Finally, Konec finishes off the EP with a powerful dubstep remix of the same track.
