Finally: Cologne/Germany based producer CAN7 aka Levent Canseven is back on the block! The adventurous new single "Uska Dara" featuring legendary singer Eartha Kitt does not only mark an impressive return to the dancefloor but also means a smart & groovy tribute to his turkish roots at the same time.
"Uska Dara" is CAN7's first vital sign in almost a decade. After heaps of highly acclaimed remix & production work for big names like Moloko, DeLaSoul, Bootsy Collins and many others plus a much compiled original album ("Safari Club", dedicated to his soul & funk upbringing), Levent focussed more on sideprojects but always kept the CAN7 vibe alive.
"Uska Dara" originally (üsküdara) is a classic turkish poem from the 1950s known & recited by every local child. Levent unearthed it at some point, messed with it and chose Eartha Kitt's s vocal rendition for its charming accent and positive vibration.
The Peppermint Jam release includes nice & effective remix contributions by Hans Nieswandt, Levthand and Umani.
