In A Bottle EP comes from percussionist-based musician Cristiano Marcelino, who accepted the challenge of diving into the world of experimental/electronic music. At plain sight the result is huge, with gracious slow-jams scrambling between organic and percussive elements, an uncompromising manifesto on traces of Forol's way of seeing music. Self-titled 'In A Bottle' is a sublime piece showcasing his taste for percussion soaked with soft and mellow harmonies, really introducing the journey of this 3-track EP.Those looking to wade through the sea of Forol's potential influences will quickly find themselves in the deep waters with 'Call Me Nervous'. It gently coaxes the listener into an immersive experience with tension sounding textures, sophisticated percussion and meandering melodies that characterise him, altogether with the tranquility of a mumbling voice that transports the mind to a state of reflexion. Transitioning into 'They Live Around Me', Forol seeks and finds beauty in melancholy, confronting us with the often forgotten reality that our sadness is not mutually exclusive from the listener. Complete landscapes like these are only realised by contrasting the indulgent against the reserved, light versus darkness. 'In A Bottle EP' is an intimate release, and above all a great debut by Forol, raising the bar on what's to come.
