This new project being released on Edit Records UK is deep, soulful, and inspirational. The mastermind of this sound is Mad Marvel aka Marvin Roberson: a 30 something year old Deep house/Soul music producer and songwriter from South Central Los Angeles, California.
Mad Marvel has been making music since the age of 13, and recorded his first studio demo at 14. He re-entered the studio 14 years ago under the name Exit Downtown, and independently released a deep house soul project, with his then music partner Donald Kaiser. Marvin says: I felt this is the right time in my life to come back to my craft, and South Central inspired the energy for this project. Living in LA you hear Soul, hip hop, Latin, and Afro-Latin inspired rythams so I wanted to showcase the beauty and diversity of my community while still talking about my life. In "Celebrate with Me" ,the first song on the E.P, he sings "I've been holding out for years because I was afraid of my voice, I always wanted to sing but didn't think I had the voice, I watched my friends ride on the highs of life they didn't know how low I felt because I was confused, the devil was riding me but the spirit guided me, I'm so happy I found this miracle in a song, so sing with me...Celebrate!!!" It is truly a celebration when you are able to share a piece of your life with the world. We are excited to hear what is cooked up in Mad Marvels laboratory as he works along side Andy Edit: a dedicated dj vet, with over 25 years of experience under his belt. The combination of the two promises to be mind blowing.
