In the mould of recent re-issues such as Morgan Geists' Environ UnClassics' series, or Black Devil Disco Club on Aphex Twin's Rephlex imprint, the Idjuts unearth and update a lost classic from the early days of electronic club music.
In it's original form "(A Place Called) Tarot"' is a mutant hybrid of early euro disco and progressive rock; imagine Patrick Cowley producing Vangelis' Aphrodites Child. The Idjuts takes this esoteric original, stripping it into 3 distinct but complimentary parts. Drawing out the dancefloor their 3 edits each marry vocals & live instrumentation with some serious electronic dub disco, all overlaid with the retro synthetic edge present in the best of recent dance music.
On the flip Idjuts friend and co-hort Sean P re-edits Sandy's Gang's string soaked modern soul classic Hungry. Sean's edit remains respectful to the original but strips down the core of the track, extending and enhancing the sheer disco pleasure of the 3mins 23 seconds long original to 5 and a half mins of sheer bliss.
