Nichovic was born on the 9th of June 1989.
He started learning how to play Steel Pan in 2002 at the age of 13 years, under the watchful eye of Johnny Hlaba at Dr Mary Malahlela primary school in Dobsonville Soweto. In a school band by the
name “Soweto Marimba Kidz” which was found and introduced by the school principal Kgabo State Setati as an after school activity.
Nic started his high school studies in 2004 and graduated in 2008 at Forte High in Dobsonville at age of 19 years and in 2009 he got a job at Old Khaki, a retail store in Maponya Mall.
In 2006 he was part of the SMK band that went on a Cot Canada tour for three weeks, which was co-ordinated by Michael Rea with the aim of raising funds for Cotlands (Aids orphanage home)
In 2007 he left SMK and formed a new band by the name Steel Drums Dance Company with Lerato Monageng ,Vusi Sibego my little brother Eddie, cousin Allen Phahlamohlaka. SDDC took a show “Steel drums & Bass” to Grahamstown art festival both in 2007 and 2010.
In 2008 while still working with SDDC he and a very good friend of his Thulani Ntobele started a tap dance duo by the name T-squared Tap Dance Soweto and in 2012 TTDS was part of SA’s Got Talent and made until to the semi-finals. T-squared took part in both the Dance World Cup Qualifiers: SA
and Dance Star Qualifiers: SA and qualified on both occasions but due to lack of sponsorships the duo couldn’t represent SA on both occasions , 2013 London & 2014 Croatia.
In 2011 he was able to buy his 1st ever silver and shiny Steel pan that's when he decided quit his job and focus on his steel pan music.
