Schakals first EP comes to us from AntiAlias, one of its two founders and carrys the ominous name of "Somber Clarity".
The title track makes one think of the return into the early morning light, but could just as easily be a reminder to those dark and delirious hours that came before said return.
A rumbling bassline is acompanied by dub driven chords and a dark melody that decides, only at the last moment, to become hopeful again.
Then, on the flipside, we have Midas 104 & Jonas Saalbach collaborating on a beautiful Remix. They take the slow, dubby feel of the original and interweave it with flickering arps and bright, melodic atmos that reach their climax in a big, emotional breakdown, that rounds out this EP in the most perfect way.
