Long-term brother of the label Matthias Tanzmann makes his full debut on Saved Records. And it is well and truly worth the wait. The German stalwart delivers a hedonistic two track EP that places distinctive bassline-led grooves at the centre of a sound that is bristling with personality, energy and adventure.
Despite the flat, thudding kick drum that announces the track, “No Sleep” immediately sets out its stall as a visceral tech groover with funky, tribal drums. By the time the simple yet deliriously fun bassline joins the party, the track is a completely derailed and unhinged slice of party atmospheres. Rapid-fire drum machines skitter across the top to fuel a dancefloor stamina that drives momentum forward.“Sleazy Rider” is a deeper, weightier workout with ghetto bass as its backbone. Around the grumbling bass you have shuffling percussion, chopped up vocal FX and some wildly tumbling basslines that inject a sense of swing into proceedings. The power of the bottom end sweeps you up and pulls you along for the ride. Clearly in full on party mode, Tanzmann has once again become the facilitator of no sleep.
