Edmond Weinfeld aka Ed Ed has been dropping bombs on Moodmusic and other labels lately, be it then his latest work on Moodmusic Tales Of The Night Series, the recent EPs on Defected,OFF or his current remix for Peter Kaltenberg on Colour in Music records and also his remixes and single tracks on NOIR.
The NUNCHI EP takes 5 fairly different cuts and showcases the variable styles the talented producer has to offer, from deep to techy and always having a firm grip on the dancefloor. The collection can be almost considered a small mini album, as the concept of the release is that of old disco albums 'killers - no fillers'.
The EP starts with The Zoo, deep chords smears into a dark and hypnotic groove, before the teasing break will open up the track and raise some hands in the air.
Followed by Delta, a bouncy and hypnotic affair with racketing claps and a typical Ed Ed feel with lots of bass, made for the later hours on the dancefloors.
The third track Lagoon, takes a more classic house feel with a mesmerising vocal sample, a great bass and skippy snares.
Nunchi continues the Groove, concentrating on tricky drum programming and a darker feel, making this one perfect for the later hours.
The EP ends in fine form with Monti, more classic Ed Ed action here, shuffling hihats coupled with a swingy bassline keeps the Chitown groove rolling.
