It’s good to get back to New Zealand again and we’ve been itching to put this EP by Maxx Mortimer out for a while. It nearly didn’t happen when his laptop was stolen but the stars aligned and the the world of music is now a better place.

Feelings is vocal house at it’s very best with Stacey Gardener bringing the soul. Deep, simple and catchy its reminiscent of Miguel Campbell’s Something Special and has the potential to bring the same kind of heat.

Next up Soulfood is deep garage that packs an extra thump. Nagging chords and sample, a big bottom end and drums that swing are all that you need for perfect heads down Saturday night NYC flavoured tackle. Expect dance floors like Faith, MOS and Fabric to be jumping all over this.

Got Some Funk has a more live flavour and it’s all in the groove that hits the one. Again on a garage tip with Rhodes and sample at the forefront this does it’s thing and does it damn well.
