The Pittsburgh Diaries

C Scott

Lumberjacks In Hell
LIH019 | 2016-12-12
It was Pittsburgh producer Jarrett Tebbetts who introduced Lumberjacks in Hell chief Marcel Vogel to the music of C Scott. Clearly, the Amsterdam-based German liked what he heard, because he's decided to hand the producer a debut on his edit-minded imprint. His productions appear to be rooted in soul, jazz and deep house, with opener 'Climb On' offering a brilliant, club-ready fusion of all three influences. There's more head-nodding deep house bump to be found on 'Hands Free', while 'Stuttering' sees him effortlessly join the dots between the loopy disco-house of Soundstream, and more soul-flecked flavours. To round off the EP, he joins forces with Buscrates on the high-tempo, piano-laden stomp of 'At Ease'.
