dojob brings you their latest signing Thozot, with remixes from Canada and South AfricaThozot Themba Ndaba is a music producer, arranger and a performing artist. A founding member of Womba Artistic Events & entertainment cc as well as Womba Womba percussion & winds ensemble.
He is a versatile musician who is really passionate about music and has worked in various musical genres from classical music to jazz, house, gospel as well as traditional music. His love of music began as a child growing up in Soweto, at the time staying with his dad's elder brother (Mr. Caesar Ndaba) who was a priest and church choirmaster at the time while also running a driving school, he is the person who bought Thozot his first musical instrument, a clarinet and was very instrumental in exposing the young boy into the art of music and business.

A recorder ensemble was soon established at church under the tutorship of clarinetist Cosmos Tshabalala who also taught theory of music, Thozot did very well and was soon assisting the tutor to get the other students up to speed, it was during this time that he also started fiddling with the keyboard. The recorder ensemble became very popular and did a number of impressive performances around Soweto within a year of its inception. Life was good for the young man and the popularity of the ensemble came with its fair share of advantages, eventually he went to clarinetist/saxophonist Mario trincero to further his clarinet playing skill, and later joined Soweto orchestra and clarinet choir, a clarinets only ensemble

After finishing school he went on to join the army band and was the youngest member. Soon after joining the army band he took up jazz keyboard classes under the tutelage of the late pianist Labani Malobye, it was during this time that he met and became friends with Khaya Mahlangu, South Africa's foremost jazz saxophonist who also honed his skills in jazz, the knowledge he gained from those classed gave him confidence to form his 1st jazz band (four some) part time with the late drummer Mike Mbatha and the late trumpeter Papi while also running a home studio. The success of four some on the gig scene propelled Thozot and the late Mike to collaborate on a number of kwaito and gospel projects, producing up and coming artists with moderate success.

After 8 yrs he left the Army band and went into business running a retail outlet, and a year and a half on, realizing how much he missed music, sold the outlet and went back to his 1st love, he freelanced for a while playing with various bands, eventually joining African footprint musical in 2004 as the clarinet, saxophone and African flutes player, and has done numerous tours with the musical around the world playing to standing ovations in the USA, Australia, Monte Carlo, Europe, Israel, India, Mexico, Lebanon, and France, not forgetting its home base in South Africa.
It was during one these tours in 2006 that he and his colleagues formed Womba Womba percussion & winds ensemble. A live ensemble consisting of seven versatile musicians, who explore African indigenous sounds in the category of world music. In the music, percussions, saxophone, flutes and pipes are the major leading instruments.

Womba Womba went on to record their debut album, an offering that has a mixture of tribal jazz and traditional sounds. Clearly pronounced are the percussive drumming, traditional singing and izaga with a doze of saxophone and flute melodies. This album was recorded in Germany in 2007 while on tour performing in various European African festivals.

Self-driven as well as a team player and flexible in his approach to music, Thozot has shared the stage with many distinguished musicians locally and abroad and his currently working on a number of projects with various artists.

A special thanks goes out to the remixers involved in this package and you for buying and supporting.
