Anthony Attalla is back with Yoshitoshi for another stellar release, this time partnering with Soul Trader to draw from a different set of sounds than those that drove his groovy F1 EP in 2016. “Close” is a techno epic built around pulsing bass rhythms and swirling melodies. A looming vocal beckons “keep me close,” giving the track a mysterious edge for emotional impact.
“Silence” imparts an early Yoshitoshi vibe that brings to mind some of our iconic records from back in the day. The final product, however, is glossed over with sleek, modern day production. Like its partner, “Silence” is build around a steady, driving groove, with dancing leads and arpeggios that build and release intensely over its six minute ride.
