Igloo records is back with a new EP that comes from James Le Roux. It features four chunky house tunes, one of which is a fine remix from Dilo.
James Le Roux is an English producer with a show on Pioneer Radio who is really making waves. He plays all over Europe and has a top live show and these new tunes are slick indeed.
Now What kicks things off and is a soulful tune with rubbery drums and downbeat synth lines making for a nice emotive groove. The Dilo remix is a little more upbeat, with more skewed synths layered in and popping percussive sounds really making the groove come alive underneath a spoken word vocal line. Slow Burn then gets all cosmic, with twinkly melodies and rasping bass dancing along underneath lush chords that are filled with colour. Finally, New Foundland is a playful cut with quick and slick drums and hits, tinkling melodic sounds, roaming bass and warm chords all infusing the cut with real soul.
