Phuket, Thailand based electronic music artist Taz Mutcha joins us at Piston Recordings with his debut slice entitled, Day Dreaming. Having started out going to local clubs, Taz was inspired to start his own parties and began to throw pioneering gigs during the day on Phuket’s beaches. This developed into a thriving club scene which spawned other projects and ultimately led Taz into the production realm. His tracks have gained support from a host of top names including Louie Vega, Miguel Migs, Gene Farris and many more.

The release kicks off with the Original Mix which dishes out a sure-fire dancefloor hit. Smothered in deep house grooves and funky riffs, the track eases you in with smooth beats, plucky basses and vibrant piano stabs which become highly infectious. Cool vocals and a mystical breakdown section add a trippy element. Top-notch stuff, not to be missed. Next up we have the Dub Mix, which takes us down a magical rabbit hole of sounds and textures. Vibrancy and dynamics are manifested in strong plucks and airy, cosmic sequences. Beautifully constructed and a definite must have for DJ’s looking to add an extra level of spice to their sets. The Jazzy Mix concludes the release, delivering a superbly crafted downtempo, organically flavoured groove. Big beats drive the track as flurries of jazz inspired sounds dominate. Short vocal shots and rich piano chords keep the house vibe alive on this excellent slice.
