Travis Emmons was involved in three of our favourite deep house jams of 2021. The best of the bunch was "Grapevine" (the version of the classic he made with Trice Be and Brett Rubin). We heard this one everywhere, from hipster coffee shops to the main dancefloor at Night Tales, London. As much as we love the underground tracks he has released on GU, we asked him to bring some of THAT universally-loveable deepness to the label. He kicked off with "Redbone", his version of the Childish Gambino tune, and it was a hit with DJs as diverse as Terry Farley, PAX, Miane and Melanie Ribbe. Here he takes on the Jamie Woon song "Lady Luck" (from his 2011 album "Mirrorwriting) and warps it into a killer Deep House groove. Raw MAW-style beats and deep-as-you-like chords form the backing, while Travis' DJ sensibilities drive the track forward to a delightful dancefloor effect.
