Genning is bringing his distinctive dubby and raw sounds to REFRACTION RECORDS for the label's fifth release with his "Dub Echoes" EP.
Hailing from Ekaterinburg, Russia, Genning has been producing remarkable music since 2008. He has released tracks on esteemed labels such as Greyscale, spclnch, and Mixcult, both on vinyl and digitally.
His versatile tracks have garnered support from top DJs worldwide, including notable Russian artists like Andrey Pushkarev, Anton Kubikov, Kiril Matveev, and many more.
The EP kicks off with "Room 3," a late-night dub where sharp, distorted stabs meet moving chords and an immersive, straightforward bassline.
The next original track, "Vacuo," stands out with its minimalistic broken beats and finely arranged percussion, culminating in a hypnotic electronic trip.
The third original track, "Inside Train," is a classic dub techno piece featuring hypnotic stabs and delayed chords, evolving within a hazy atmosphere and rhythm that takes the listener on a transcendent journey.
Remixing "Room 3" is dub techno maestro Alexander Bogdanov. Russian-born and Belarus-based, Alexander is at his musical peak with recent impressive releases on labels such as Seven Villas, Greyscale, and spclnch, now adding REFRACTION to his repertoire. With sharp sweeps and evolving noises, Alexander delights us with his haunting aesthetic in a memorable piece of dub techno.
Latvian DJ and producer Nicolas Barnes brings to the EP a groovy version of "Vacuo." The ECOUL SND label boss makes his REFRACTION debut with another great dancefloor banger. Featuring a continuous and swinging bassline and haunting atmospheres, he adds another impressive tune to his collection.
Closing the EP, New Zealander artist SUBSET makes his debut on the label with a refreshing interpretation of "Inside Train." Describing his style as "four parts dub, one part deep house, equal parts minimal and techno, dusted with an organic blend of evolving atmospheres and live filtering delays," SUBSET delivers exactly this in his remix.
