Messy Eater is the new music and illustration project from Pete Bott, whose previous projects have been supported by NME, The Guardian, Notion and BBC Radio 1.
Drawing comparisons with Gorillaz, Beck, Talking Heads, The Flaming Lips and The Avalanches, Messy Eater combines the flavours of wry lyrical observations on modern life with irresistible hooks and a unique self-produced sound.
'Slowcoach' is the first single from the forthcoming second Messy Eater EP 'Southern Fried' and is inspired by the Dust Brothers' work on the seminal albums 'Paul's Boutique' by Beastie Boys and 'Odelay' by Beck.
Launched only 6 months ago, Messy Eater has already recorded his first BBC Introducing live session and received editorial support at Apple Music.
'Infectiously catchy and highly original' - Plastic Magazine
'Mixtape culture meets genre-bending songwriting... with irresistible hooks' - Lost In The Manor
'A feel-good feast... this belongs in an otherworldly sphere of timeless beats, expansive synths and undeniably catchy rhythm' - Unrecorded
