Gone Too Far (Incl. Milton Jackson & Nivek Tsoy Remixes)
Karol XVII & MB Valence, Robert Owens
Loco RecordsLRD014 | 2009-07-16
The latest release coming from an independent label Loco Records is the fruit of cooperation between the Polish duo Karol XVII & MB Valence and the world famous vocalist Robert Owens.
The song is called Gone Too Far and focuses on criticism of the increasing fashion for distorting house music. Furthermore, it draws attention to the roots of this genre and the fact that in its initial period it was built on love, but now it is created mostly for acclaim. The title implies that everything concerning the style has gone beyond the limit. The feeling, love have yielded to the lack of values and got replaced by globally promoted heartless technology.
Milton Jackson and Kevin Yost also known as Nivek Tsoy, who are regarded as the top deep house producers, have been invited to present their own interpretations of the song.
Robert Owens - a world famous vocalist considered to be an icon of house music. In the mid 80’s, Robert together with Larry Heard and Ron Wilson were involved in the trio Fingers Inc. and produced such songs as It's Over, Mystery Of Love, Bring Down The Walls, but also the anthem and at the same time one of the most cult songs in the dance world: Can You Feel It. Besides, Robert was engaged in birth and development of Chicago House. Moreover, he has twice reached the first place in the Hot Dance Club Play chart prepared by the Billboard magazine: the first time with a song I'll Be Your Friend in 1992, whereas the second time it was “Mine To Give in 2001 , which was performed for Photek.
Milton Jackson - a very talented deep house creator whose real name is Barry Christie and who has been present at the scene for almost 10 years. His recordings constantly occupy leading positions in the charts of the best selling releases within the genre and are supported by many well-known DJs and producers. Ever since he started collaborating with Jimpster's label – Freerange, his career gathered speed and his The Rhythm Track and Ghost In My Machine became big house hits.
Nivek Tsoy - a puzzling artist who can skillfully combine deep house sounds with tech-house elements. By doing so, he consistently dissociates himself from his original name Kevin Yost and his roots of jazz and soul. One of the connecting elements is his nickname derived from the real name Kevin Yost written backwards. Kevin’s makeover turned out to be very successful in terms of needs for today's club scene which can be verified by Nivek's top positions on music charts.
