Hollis Parker has carved out his own contemporary twist on sample heavy house over the past 3 years through his releases on SoSure Music while gaining support from the likes of Larry Heard, Charles Webster, DJ Sneak and Luke Solomon over that time. Having dropped ‘The Last Raw Era’ - his debut LP - on vinyl in 2016, Hollis Parker follows up with this new 3 track EP. ‘Make Me Fall’ takes the lead and embraces a rough and dance floor ready aesthetic with swinging rhythms and pitched vocals running alongside intricately programmed jazz piano lines and horn melodies. ‘RRIP’ delves deeper, via soft floating pads, crunchy drums, and orchestral vocal chants while ‘3rd Avenue Serenade’ rounds out the package via dusty jazz samples, choppy bass stabs and smooth vocal hums. ‘Identity Crisis’ is out through SoSure Music from 29th September 2017.
