Artist
YVONNE
Yvonne grew up outside of Syracuse, New York and was named after her Mother, who was a very accomplished musician. The bar had already been set high right from the beginning. Music was a second language in her household. As a result, Yvonne started out singing before she could even speak. The drums and piano were the first instruments that she began exploring. At the age of 7 she had an unfortunate accident that damaged both of her wrists. This forced her to focus fully on studying voice. She sang in school and in the church choir. She also participated in local theater. By the age of 12, she was the youngest solo artist to tour with the Syracuse Symphony.
Yvonne loved all types of music right from the start. One of her favorite past-times was spending time on the weekends at the Blue Grass Festivals and listened to Rock and Roll. At home, Classical and Musical Theater were all that were seriously offered to her. Along with her love for music, Yvonne had a passion for Art and Fashion. After winning an art scholarship from New York City's F.I.T. ( Fashion Institute of Technology ), fate stepped in and carved out her life path. It was off to New York City that she went!
Shortly after arriving in New York City, she hit the music scene. By the end of her freshman year in college, she recorded a music demo in her friend's basement and that quickly became the "Screamer of The Week" for WLIR radio station! This led to a Northeast tour. Around the same time she was asked to model for the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency which led to print work, acting and TV commercials. During this time, she continued to attend school and work on her music. She was offered a contract with Sony Music, but they wanted her as a solo act not with her band. This created complications and by the time she was able to get back to them with an answer, the A&R contact was gone with his whole department.
While staying busy, she had an idea for a dance track. She ended up meeting and working with some amazing new artists who have inspired her and her music from then on. The track blew up the New York City Underground scene. Her first performance was at Fire Island's Ice Palace an had a massive turnout. After that the rest was history. The NYC Underground has always supported Yvonne and her music.
This past year has been extremely busy for her with one release right after another and with establishing her own music label. Her latest release, "I'm Falling" is receiving rave reviews and Yvonne is so excited by the world's response. According to Yvonne, "So far it's looking good!"
