MARK MACKENZIE

Named as "one of Scotlands most promising young acts" by Data Transmission, Mark Mackenzie is set for big things in the future.

In 2015, Icarus signed Mark to their record label 'Fly Boy', joining a young roster that has previously seen releases from some of the UK's best upcoming artists such as Kideko, Humans & Machines, Lauren Laimant, Ruido and Abeyance. Since signing, releases such as 'Tell Me What' and 'Swell' have received huge support from the likes of Eton Messy, Lane 8, 99 Souls and Tough Love.

'One Two Step' became Concrete Music's highest selling Record, a staple track in Hannah Wants DJ sets and gained particular interest after plays on Annie Mac's Radio 1 Dance Party, Mista Jam's 1Xtra show and Sub Souls Kiss FM show. 'Earworm' a close second having broken well into the House Top 100 on another download site, gaining attention from another download site themselves and named as one of their 'Must Hear House' tracks featuring in sets from acts such as Chuckie, Michael Woods and Rene Ames.

Mark's "perfect balance of techno house and dirty garage grooves" created on a combination of analogue and digital instruments is what make his sounds unique. Combined with a pure love for music and experience ranging back ten years as a DJ and producer, he's settled well into residencies across Scotland including championing the Loch Ness Garden Party 'OutDores'. As a performer he's supported the likes of Groove Armada, 2ManyDJ's, Leftfield, Annie Mac, Simian Mobile Disco, Felix Da Housecat and Jackmaster among many others. This dedication earned him a Scottish Alternative Music Award nomination and recognition from The Scottish Sun newspaper who named him "a great ambassador for the underground scene in Inverness”.
